My Weight Loss Challenge

IMG_20140108_222958I am 1 of those people who has struggled with weight their whole life. I was a chubby kid, thick teen and now over weight adult. I have experienced the good, the bad and the in between. I will say it does mess with your mind. I always felt my weight held me back in some way from being who I am . I’ve never thought I was ugly because I was fat but I did think that other people thought I was because I was a fat or they would try to make you believe you could be “more beautiful” if you were smaller. I digress, leave that for another post.

As you know  I’m a 26 year old mom to a 6 year old. What you may not know is that I have been trying to drop a few pounds. Here’s a little back story; before my son was born I maintained a size 10-12 sometimes a size 9 depending on the brand. During my  pregnancy I got up to the mid 200’s but wore maternity clothes so I was never sure on my size because it fluctuated. After I had my son I got down to a size 14 but my body (more of my stomach) wasn’t the same. From 2007 til 2013 my weight has roller-coasted remaining in the 200’s. I started this weight loss journey again August 16, 2013. I am only 27 pounds down from my start weight. I have been maintaining the weight loss and eating better but I need to fully commit to get to where I want to be. Time to stop cruise controlling and put this mission into drive.

So, I joined my job’s biggest loser challenge to help me reach my goal. At the end the winner wins a grand prize! I want that prize! Challenge started March 12 and ends June 12. Wish me luck!

I will continue my weight lifting but adding cardio in my routine. Take my measurements soon. As well as eating right and cutting my sweet intake down and eventually limiting sugar completely. Sweets are my weakness. I also will continue to post on IG about my progress.

No rolls

Smaller arms

No double chin

Complete toned body

I know almost 30 pounds might not sound like a lot but it does feel like a lot. I will cherish my beginning mark and look forward to the during phase and after mark because this is not just a challenge to me but a life change. Praying to stay committed til the end. If you have suggestions and more let me know in the comments. Below you will find my 6 month progress. I do see a difference.I happy that I decided to post this. Now I can use this as a motivating tool.

    That’s awesome, Jerrita! I totally see the difference. Trust me when I say 20, 25, 30 pounds lighter makes a world of a difference. And I too use my clothes as my scale, so to speak. Man, those real scales be acting funny. lolol.

      Thanks Vivi!!! I appreciate it. Its not a easy JOURNEY I’ve fallen off but got right back half the times lol and yes, you are right it does make a difference. It might not feel like it on a day to day but when you have pics to look back and can fit into certain things. It’s a great feeling.
